Alborz Campus celebrates the beginning of new academic year
The keynote addresses were given by UT President Dr. Seyed Mohammad Moghimi, and Secretary of the Supreme Council for the Cultural Revolution, Dr. Said Reza Ameli.
Dr. Moghimi explained that the University of Tehran generates its own progress and development goals every five years, and urged individual faculties to ensure the quality of their research and teaching is continuously improving.
Dr. Ameli emphasized the role of universities in serving as networks for the collection and harnessing of knowledge towards civilization building.
The Dean of Alborz Campus, Dr. Younes Nourbakhsh, welcomed the students’ presence at the university after a long period of online interactions due to covid-19. He noted that the celebration coincided with the World Science Day for Peace and Development, and explained that one distinctive feature of Alborz Campus students is their economic, community and industry links.
Dr. Seyed Taghi Omid Naeini, Academic Deputy of Alborz Campus, introduced the faculty and the learning and research opportunities available to students.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the prize-winning graduates from last term were presented with their awards, and attendees were treated to an excellent live performance by the traditional Iranian folk band “Soluk”.
